The Authors suggest a new approach to be used in the publication of books on particularly interesting trees (in the historical, scenic or monumental sense): in addition to some pretty photographs and historical information a view on the state of health of the plants should also be given. For this purpose they present some technical-scientific data, based on actual research on a historical plant. Once suitably summarized, this can be inserted into the book and this information could be useful to specialists since it would be a dated document to be referred to in future research

A tal proposito esemplificano, sulla base di una indagine effettivamente eseguita su una pianta storica, le notizie tecnico-scientifiche da inserire, adeguatamente condensate, nell'opera che cosi' potra' servire anche agli specialisti del settore e costituira' un documento datato cui far riferimento in indagini successive
