Case studies of successful horticultural development outside of the South East [South Australia] : the Simarloo approach. [Conference paper]
1991
Sims, N. (Simarloo Pty Ltd, Lyrup (Australia))
Simarloo began 26 years ago and has been part of a foreign private ownership; a foreign multinational non public company; and resident business immigrants, public company. The current holding consists of 6300 acres. Since 1985 older orchards have been progressively removed and replaced with smaller modules of more varieties. New plantings are made of varieties that they elected to slot into the domestic and world markets outside of the glut volumes. Packaging and presentation are always subject to review. Use of chemicals is restricted. Marketing policies are basic and fundamental.
