The objective of this study was to verify in methodical terms the applicable statistical method of factor analysis within forest-hydrological research. The factors analysis turned out not to be the best method for evaluation of the relation between increment and rainfall-runoff. It provides relative values only, but it contributes to the explanation of regime structure.
