Forming and utilization of the forest management information bank

The contribution informs on the contents and accessibility of the information bank for the wide circle of users in the forestry sector. The information bank includes most of the important information regarding Slovak forests and their management. In this connection, the importance of computer nets and the geographical information system for collecting, procession, presenting and distribution of information is explained and underlined there. A detailed attention is paid to market information service as one of the information bank activities, which includes monitoring of timber and other forest products.
