[Commercialization of food and forest products originating from the parkland agroforestry: the case of markets in the Zitenga and Yako divisions of Burkina Faso]

The paper presents the results of a survey carried out in Zitenga and Yako divisions of Burkina Faso whose objective was to collect qualitative and quantitative data on the marketing of nonwood forest products. Inventory of products brought to the markets and their weight equivalents were used to identify products, determine quantities and estimate their financial value. Interviews were also carried out with the sellers to determine the source of their products and market channels. The study identified 26 products associated with 13 forest species and shows that the commercialisation of these products is highly profitable to rural women.
