[Effect of 6 amendments on a physically deteriorated soil and on the cultivation of the sugar cane, 1. Short term outlook]

The objetive of this trial is to evaluate in short-term (1 years) and medium-term (5 years), the effects of 5 organic amendments and phospho-gypsum on a soil Vertic Ustropepts, clay fine, mixed, isohipertermic, with physical properties deteriorated (bulk density of 1,54 g/cm3 and 9,7% of macropores), electrical conductivity (Eces) in saturate extract high relation (5,4 dS/m), and the effects in sugar cane crop, cultivar B75403. Seven treatments were used, arragement in randomized blocks design, with 5 replications. The same doses of N, P and K were used. The use of amendments increased the % of moisture retention in the soil (0-29 cm). This had agreement with either a high increase in the amount of micropores and higher yield of sugar cane.
