Infestation of soybean seed with fungi, including seedborne pathogen, will lower the quality of the seed intended for planting or consumption. The objectives of this experiment were to identify fungi associated with soybean seed and to evaluate the efficacy of fungicides to control seedling disease of soybean. Seed samples were taken from upland Sukoharjo, South Lampung District, and lowland Sukadana, Central Lampung District, where soybean is commonly planted after lowland rice. Methods of fungal isolation were the blotter test, agar plate test, and incubation in soil. Fungicides were applied by the slurry treatment. The results show that soybean seed was infested with several fungi including Fusarium, Aspergillus, Penicillium, and Rhizopus. Mankozeb application reduced the severity of seedling disease of soybean (P0.05)
