1993
Morean, Francis K. (H.E.R.B.S., Arima (Trinidad and Tobago))
The wild walnut (hunter's nut or nwazette) is a native forest plant which yields edible fruits. The seeds yield an oil which has potential medicinal applications. The plant, which belongs to the family Euphorbiaceae, is a woody shrub which may grow into a high-climbing liana. It is fairly common in the forest of Cushe and Charuma in East Trinidad and in Wuare Vega in north Trinidad. Seeds have occasionally been found in several other areas of Trinidad, often along river banks.
