The invention refers to isolated organ and tissue culture and may be used for growing plants under sterile conditions. The method of microclonal propagation of birdsfoot trefoil (Lotus corniculatus L.), a valuable high-protein legume crop, includes explantation of sterilized germs on a nutrient medium and their cultivation until callus grows. Then the callus is separated into segments (3-5 mm) which are transferred onto a medium for regenerating sprouts and subsequent growing of separate sprouts on a medium for rooting. It is characteristic for the method that at all the etaps of the cloning the agarized Murashige-Scoog medium is used. The explantation and growing of sterilized sprouts is carried out on the nutrient medium containing 6-benzylaminopurine (0.95-1.05 mg/l) and naphthyl acetic acid (10** (-4)-10** (-6) mg/l). The regeneration of the sprouts is achieved on the medium containing naphthyl acetic acid (0.45-0.55 mg/l). Rooting of the sprouts is performed on the hormone free medium. The plants-regenerates obtained are used as a material for subsequent propagation. The method proposed makes it possible to significantly increase output of the plants-regenerates and to shorten terms of their growing under sterile conditions
