Phytocenological analysis of fallow after self-regeneration done in 1994 to 1998 at the foot of the Lower Tatra Mts. (852 m above sea level). Fallow variants were compared (variant A - moister site, variant B - drier site) with the control (variant K - permanent grassland). Dominant species in the first year was Viola tricolor (25 %) on moister site and Anthemis arvensis (30.58 %) on drier site. Compared with the control composed of 50 plant species, fallow variants were represented only by half number of species. Percentage of blanks was relatively high (17.25 to 20.02 %).
