Tomato spotted wilt tospovirus in two cultivars of chrysanthemum frutescens in Liguria

Английский. Tomato spotted wilt tospovirus (TSWV) has been detected in Argyranthemum frutescens cvs Tesi and Roberta grown in Liguria, Northern Italy. Infected plants showed yellow or necrotic spotting and were stunted. No other viruses were found to be present. The virus was identified by serology, reaction on test plants and electron microscopy; it was not found in plants of the same cvs that were symptomless or showed other alterations, nor in 12 other cvs. grown in the area

Vengono segnalate infezioni da tomato spotted wilt tospovirus (virus dell'avvizzimento maculato del pomodoro) sulle cv. di margherita (Argyranthemum frutescens) Tesi e Roberta coltivate in Liguria, con sintomi di vivace maculatura gialla o necrotica sulle foglie ed arresto di crescita. Non e' stato trovato nessun altro virus in queste piante. Il virus, identificato con saggi sierologici, di infettivita' su piante indicatrici e di microscopia elettronica, e' stato rilevato solo in piante delle due cv. con i sintomi descritti, non in piante con sintomi diversi o prive di sintomi delle stesse o di altre 12 cultivar coltivate nella zona
