The effect of enzyme preparation with mostly proteolytic activity in mixtures for early weaning of piglets with different protein levels on indicators of growth and nutrient digestibility

Metabolic and feeding comparative trials were conducted to study the effect of enzyme preparation Allzyme Vegpro Concentrate (AVC) with mostly proteolytic activity, when applied to complete feed mixtures for early weaning of piglets and containing 16 and 24 % of soybean meal (21.26 % and 23.81 % of proteins), as exerted on piglet weight, feed consumption per 1 kg weight gain, digestibility of N, fat, fiber and nitrogen-free extract while N output in excrements was parallelly investigated. Higher protein level and application of enzyme preparation AVC significantly (P0.1-P0.05) positively increased N conversion of N uptake and N conversion of digested N. Higher protein content in mixtures resulted in higher N output in excrements per 1 kg weight gain. But N output in excrements was decreased by 10 % by AVC applications to feeds with higher protein level in comparison with the group not receiving AVC. Neither was the effect of protein content nor that of enzyme preparation on piglet live weight and average daily weight gain statistically significant. Higher protein content and AVC applications to feeds with lower and higher levels of proteins positively decreased feed consumption (in kg) per 1 kg weight gain.
