During the 1993 rainy season, on a soil with a clay content of 53,4 in its upper horizon, it was sowed under irrigation a tryal to evaluate the response of the rice varieties: Cimarrin, Araure 4, Oryzica 3, Oryzica 1, Oryzica Llanos 5 and La Toma, to the nitrogen (N) dosages: 0, 60, 120, 180, 240 kg/ha. With 120 kg N/ha it was obtained maximun grain yield of 5.013 kg/ha. The most productive varieties were Oryzica 3 (5.372 kg/ha) and Oryzica Llanos 5 (5.182 kg/ha). With 120 kg N/ha Oryzica Llanos 5 yielded 6.319 kg/ha, Oryzica 3 6.178 kg/ha and Araure 4 that lodged severely, 5.492 kg/ha. With 180 kg N/ha La Toma yielded 5.087 kg/ha and Oryzica 1 4.625 kg/ha, with 120 kg N/ha Cimarron produced 4.552 kg/ha, these two showed high fungus susceptibility. With 120 kg N/ha, the incone due to the N fertilization was 181 , Oryzica Llanos 5 with 120 kg N/ha produced 616 and with 60 kg N/ha 527 . Cimarron with 60 kg N/ha 406, Oryzica 3 with 120 kg N/ha 357 and Cimarron with 120 kg N/ha 333. Cimarron, Oryzica 3, Oryzica 1 and Oryzica Llanos 5 had highest agronomic efficiencies. Durante el periodo de lluvias de 1993, sobre un suelo con un contenido de arcillaa de 53,4 en su horizonte superficial, se sembro un ensayo bajo riego para evaluar la respuesta de las variedades: Cimarron, Araure 4, Oryzica 3, Orizyca 1, Oryzica Llanos 5 y La Toma, a las dosis de nitrogeno (N): 0, 60, 120, 180 y 240 kg/ha. Con 120 kg N/ha se obtuvieron 5.013 kg de grano/ha. Oryzica 3 (5.372 kg/ha) y Oryzica Llanos 5 (5.182 kg/ha) produjeron los mayores rendimientos. Con 120 kg N/ha Oryzica Ll. 5 produjo 6.319 kg/ha, Oryzica 3 6.178 kg/ha y Araure 4 5.492 kg/ha, esta ultima presento problemas de acame. Oryzica Ll. 5 produjo 59,7 de grano entero, Araure 4 58,8, Oryzica 3 57,5, Oryzica 1 56,9, La Tomaa 56,8 y Cimarron 51,1. No hubo respuesta en grano entero a las dosis de nitrogeno. Con 120 kg N/ha se obtuvo 181 de rentabilidad de la fertilizacion nitrogenada, Oryzica Ll. 5 con 120 kg N/ha produjo 616 y con 60 kg N/ha 527, Cimarron con 60 kg N/ha 406, Oryzica 3 con 120 kg N/ha 357 y Cimarron con 120 kg N/ha 333. Cimarron, Oryzica 3, Oryzica 1 y Oryzica Ll. 5 mostraron mayores eficiencias agronomicas. Al considerar ademas kos testigos sin N, Oryzica Ll. 5 y Oryzica 3, con 120 kg N/ha, fueron mas eficientes
