The object of the research were forest soil of Alnus glutinosa bogs habitat in the Miekinia forest district in particular: 3 profiles and 1 profile located in mineral soil - heavy alluvial soil in the over 100 years old oak habitat. The object were selected because of the long period of staying of flooded water (flood 1997) and the big amount of damage in forests. The special attention was paid to a possibility of existence of toxic elements in soil and a danger of terrain's boggy as a result of dying of forested plants. A big retention, a small water permeability of mineral material a strong muddy of organic level and a long staying water caused a creation of anaerobic conditions in soil and a dying of trees. The examined soils, which have a high content of nutrient elements, do not have an increased level of toxic substances including heavy metals. One has only found out that the salinity content of soil in some organic levels, which are higher than ones observed in mineral soils, are probably a natural feature of a strongly mudded mud-peat soils
