In the paper the results of investigations of physical properties of soil in humus level after changes in cropping systems and crop sequence are reported. To find out the physical state of soil the following properties were studied: water mass content, soil density, total porosity, air-filled porosity; and at the water content equal to the tension pF=2 (10 kPa): air porosity, air permeability, tensile strength and cone index. Also mechanical composition, particle density, humus content, reaction of soil, content of CaCO3 and Atterbergs limits were determined. The influence of changes in cropping systems was shown using the parameters characterizing the intensity of field traffic. The results show that intensification of crop production, by using new modern agricultural machines and by reducing of crop rotation can cause deterioration of soil physical state
