Concept of ecological land use to achieve the sustainable development of rural areas was discussed. Method and procedure of optimizing agricultural production based on computer modelling were presented on an example of 1821 ha acreage farm. The model is helpful in finding out the alternative farming systems. Results of proposed land use concept may be evaluated in a single farm and regional scale, either. It is necessary, however, to maintain the balance between ecological and economic effects of such farming system
