Biomass of soil algae under rye in different crop rotation systems
1998
Sieminiak, D. (Research Center for Agricultural and Forest Environment, Poznan (Poland))
The goal of this work was to present changes of size of algal biomass developing in soil under rye after oats and to compare them to the changes under rye after rye sown for two years. Under winter rye crops sown after oats and after rye community of green and yellow-green algae was developing. Algae biomass in both crops determined during one year on the soil surface (0.32-1.37 kg/ha) and plough layer (6.71-18.31 kg/ha) were statistically higher at the significance level 0.05 in the soil under rye after oats
