Eighty two New Zealand White males and 63 females were reared under extensive conditions to the age of 90 days and certain pre- and pos-slaghter traits were recorded for which heritability coefficients were estimated. Moreover genetic and phenotypic correlations were calculated between these traits and the weight of carcass meat, bone or fat. Regression equations were derived for estimating the weight of meat in the carcass
