Control trials against western flower trips (Frankliniella occidentalis) on table grape with chlorphenapyr [Vitis vinifera L. - Latium]

Field trials against the western flower trips Frankliniella occidentalis (Pergande) have been carried out in years 1997-1998 on table grape Italia, using chlorphenapyr (belonging to the new chemical group of pirroles), compared with methiocarb. In 1997 two treatments have been carried out with chlorphenapyr and three with methiocarb, in both cases starting from the beginning of the flowering. In 1998, either chlorphenapyr or methiocarb were applied two times, the first before flowering and the second at the beginning of the bloom. In 1997 the three treatments with methiocarb have not shown statistically different results from the two treatments with chlorphenapyr. In 1998 both insecticides, sprayed two times, reduced the attacks of the western flower trips under the economic damage threshold, and chlorphenapyr exerted better activity in comparison with that of methiocarb

Prove di lotta al tripide americano Frankliniella occidentalis (Pergande) sono state condotte nel Lazio nel biennio 1997-98, su uva da tavola della varieta' Italia, utilizzando il nuovo principio attivo AC 303 630 (chlorfenapyr), appartenente al gruppo chimico dei pirroli. Come principio attivo di riferimento nelle due prove e' stato utilizzato methiocarb. Nel 1997 sono stati effettuati due trattamenti con chlorfenapur e tre con methiocarb, a partire, in entrambi i casi, dall'inizio della fioritura ed il secondo poco dopo l'inizio della stessa. Nella sperimentazione del 1997 i tre trattamenti ravvicinati con methiocarb non hanno fornito risultati statisticamente diversi dai due trattamenti con chlorfenapyr. La prova del 1998 ha dimostrato che entrambi gli insetticidi, distribuiti in due trattamenti ravvicinati, possono ridurre gli attacchi del tripide americano sotto la soglia di danno economico. Nella sessa prova si e' evidenziata una maggiore attivita' del chlorfenapyr, rispetto al methiocarb
