Irrigation of Prunus laurocerasus plants grown in pots in the nursery

Английский. Plants of Prunus laurocerasus were grown in 3.3 l plastic pots on compost-peat mixture. Plant were irrigated according to 40, 60 and 80% of pot available water (PAW). At the end of the growing season the size and the dry mass of plants irrigated at 60 and 80% were larger than those of plants at 40% of PAW. Partitioning of dry mass among leaf, shoot and root and the content of macro- and micronutrients of the leaves were not influenced by the water availability. Irrigation at 60 and 80% of PAW stimulated plant growth and enhanced plant appearance and, therefore, increased the marketable value of the production. Considering the effects of these two treatments, it is evident that the best economic results may be obtained with a pot water regime of 60% of PAW

Piante di Prunus laurocerasus sono state allevate in vaso per tutto il cielo vegetativo, mantenendo il contenuto del substrato al 40, 60 e 80% dell'acqua disponibile. Le piante hanno manifestato delle differenze di crescita gia' dai primi rilievi. Queste si sono consolidate col proseguire della stagione, raggiungendo, alla fine del ciclo vegetativo, 0,39, 0,44 e 0,48 m di altezza, rispettivamente, per le piante mantenute al 40, 60 e 80% dell'a.d. Anche gli altri parametri rilevati alla fine della stagione vegetativa (lunghezza totale cumulata dei germogli, numero delle foglie, massa secca totale, ecc.) hanno confermato l'effetto positivo dell'irrigazione che tende a mantenere il contenuto di acqua disponibile all'80%, anche se talora i valori riscontrati non sono molto diversi da quelli delle piante mantenute al 60% dell'a.d. (numero di germogli totali e numero di foglie). I risultati sono molto interessanti poiche' indicano la possibilita' di razionalizzare il regime idrico dei vasi, portandolo verso livelli abbastanza moderati (60% della capacita' idrica del vaso)
