[Study on flower biology of bergamot [Citrus bergamia Risso - Calabria]]

Английский. The present paper is a contribution to the study of the flower biology through the methodical observation of the flowering period of three cv: Castagnaro, Femminello and Fantastico. The results demonstrate that the burstings of buds show a sine curve: it has been lower during the first and last observation period, while it was higher during the middle one. No cultivar was early or late maturing during the flowering period, while the most productive were the cv Femminello and Fantastico. The largest number of the flowers was recorded in the middle section of the trees, while the fruit setting was higher (in percentage) in the bottom section

Il presente lavoro ha avuto lo scopo di fornire un contributo allo studio della biologia fiorale del bergamotto attraverso l'osservazione sistematica della fioritura di tre cultivar: Castagnaro, Femminello e Fantastico. I risultati dimostrano che il fenomeno antesico ha avuto un andamento sinusoide, essendosi manifestato con frequenza minima nella prima e nell'ultima fase del periodo di osservazione e massima in quella mediana. Delle tre cultivar nessuna si e' dimostrata precoce o tardiva nell'evoluzione dell'antesi, mentre le piu' produttive sono risultate essere la Femminello e la Fantastico. La maggiore numerosita' di fiori si e' registrata nella zona mediana degli alberi, mentre l'allegagione ha interessato maggiormente, in percentuale, quella basale
