Monitoring wood moisture content using the WETCORR method. Pt. 1: Background and theoretical considerations

Английский. The WETCORR method is normally used for monitoring surface moisture and time of wetness of exterior building surfaces. Lately, within the EU-project WOOD-ASSESS, the method was adapted to also accommodate the measurement of moisture content in wood. For this purpose, a robust electrode system, INWOOD, was developed to be used in conjunction with the WETCORR equipment. In part 1 of this article the development background of the WETCORR INWOOD measurement system is presented.The general principles and theoretical considerations for wood moisture measurements are reviewed including the derivation of semi-empirical expressions for how the resistivity of wood depends on moisture content, temperature and dry density of wood. Inpart 2 of the article the actual calibration procedure and statistical evaluation of the data are presented.

Немецкий. Die WETCORR-Methode wird ueblicherweise eingesetzt, um die Oberflaechenfeuchte und Nasszeiten von Gebaeudeoberflaechen aufzuzeichnen. Kuerzlich wurde diese Methode innerhalb des EU-Projektes WOOD-ASSESS auch zur Messung der Holzfeuchteabgewandelt. Zu diesem Zweck wurde das robuste Elektrodensystem INWOOD entwickelt, das zusammen mit den WETCORR-Geraeten eingesetzt werden kann. - In diesem ersten Teil wird der theoretische Hintergrund der Entwicklung des INWOOD-Systems beschrieben. Eine Uebersicht der allgemeinen Grundlagen und der Theorie der Holzfeuchtemessung werden dargestellt, einschliesslich der Ableitung halbempirischer Gleichungen fuer die Abhaengigkeit des elektrischen Widerstandes von Holzfeuchte, Temperatur und Rohdichte (Darrdichte). Im zweiten Teil werden die entwickelten Methoden zur Kalibrierung sowie die statistischen Auswertungen der Daten vorgestellt
