[Voluntary feed intake and growth performance of 10 groups of fingerling sea bass (5.8 g), kept at 24.5 deg C and fed to visual satiety for 24 days 5 diets similar for protein (DP: 45.4 - 46.9% DM) and energy level (DE: 21.5 - 22.6 kj/g DM), in which protein was supplied only by fish meal (FM) or where 40% of fish meal protein was replaced by dehulled oil-extracted soybean meal (SB) or by maize gluten meal (MG), with or without addition of 20 g/kg of a feed stimulant (dried squid extract), were compared. MG diet gave intake and growth performance levels lower (P0.05) than FM and SB, which did not differ (P0.05). Sono stati confrontati il consumo volontario e le prestazioni zootecniche di 10 gruppi di giovani spigole (5,8 g) mantenuti alla temperatura di 24,5 gradi C ed alimentati a sazieta' per 24 giorni con 5 diete simili per livelli proteico (PD: 45,4 - 46,9% ss) ed energetico (ED: 21,5 - 22,6 kj/g ss), nelle quali la proteina era apportata da sola farina di pesce (FM) o dove il 40% della proteina della farina di pesce era sostituita da farina di estrazione di soia (SB) o da farina glutinata di mais (MG) con o senza aggiunta di 20 g/kg di appetibilizzante (estratto di cefalopodi). La dieta MG ha dato luogo a livelli di ingestione e prestazioni produttive inferiori (P0,05) rispetto alle tesi FM e SB che non hanno differito tra loro (P0,05). L'aggiunta di appetibilizzante non ha migliorato (P0,05) il consumo volontario e le prestazioni zootecniche degli avannotti sottoposti alle diete contenenti farine proteiche vegetali
