The simplified balances of nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium in three long-term grassland experiments have been performed on the background of different soil pH and nitrogen dose. The goal of the investigation was the estimation of deficiency or surplus of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium as well as the utilization of these nutrients from the soil by the herbage. The full nitrogen balance shown that the nitrogen was accumulated in the soil surface layer, particularly in the case of lower dose of nitrogen fertilization. The nitrogen losses can appear in more fertile soils spreaded with higher nitrogen dose, where the remarkable yields are obtain
