The experiment studied the effect od soil mulching with transparent plastic film, black plastic film, bark and straw on the yield and fruit guality of "Cadice F1" sweet pepper cultivar cultivated in the high foil tunnel, low foil tunnel and in the open field. The yield of sweet pepper obtained from the high plastic tunnel was significantly higher and fruit showed higher quality than those obtained from the low plastic tunnel and uncovered field. In each of the environments studied, the soil mulching with transparent and black plastic films resulted in the higher total yield of fruit - 0.76 kg/square m, marketable yield by 0.64 kg/square m and early yield by 0.39 kg/ square m, as compared with nonmulched cultivation. Straw mulching decreased the fruit weight in the marketable yield. The experiment factors did not havy any effect on the thickness of fruit pericarp
