Effect of ultrasounds on the kinetics of water absorption by leguminous seeds

Paper presented the results of experimental wetting lupine and bean seeds of initial moisture contents 10 and 18%. In order to determine the changes caused by ultrasonic field in seed moistening, the process was compared with free soaking of seeds in the same water volume. Considerable acceleration of water absorption by the seeds was observed as resulted from the impact of ultrasounds of 20 kHz frequency, irrespective of their initial moisture content
