Anisotropy of internal friction angle of the wheat grain

Internal friction angle of the wheat grain was determined with the use of direct shear test under normal pressure of 20 kPa. Four methods of filling test chamber were applied: using of the scoop, the sieve and, in two ways, sliding down grain along the surface of natural repose. Maximum values of shearing stress were found depentent on the filling method. The highest shearin stress values reaching 12 kPa, were observed in case of sieve filling, while the lowest (below 10 kPa) at natural repose filling. The angles of internal friction were found ranging from 25 to 29 deg for sieve and natural repose filling, respectively
