Английский. In the field of study of the Commodity Science there is an increasing interest in niche products (organic products, PDO, etc.) able to satisfy market demand and customer requirements. This work takes into account the products involved in Fair Trade, which is an alternative mean of exchange. The objectives of Fair Trade are social, economic and environmental equality amongst the peoples of both the Northern and Southern parts of the world. The historical aspects and the philosophy which gave rise to Fair Trade, the products which support it, the market organisation and subsequently the future prospects are the object of this study

Nell'ambito degli studi merceologici oggi acquisiscono un particolare interesse i prodotti di nicchia (prodotti biologici, DOP, ecc.), in grado di soddisfare le esigenze del mercato e al contempo le richieste dei consumatori. Nel presente lavoro vengono presi in esame i prodotti del Commercio Equo e Solidale, il quale rappresenta una forma di scambio alternativa a quella convenzionale, orientata al perseguimento degli obiettivi di equita' sociale, economica e ambientale tra cittadini del Nord e del Sud del mondo. Di tale commercio si analizzano gli aspetti storici e la filosofia che sono alla base della sua nascita, le produzioni che lo sostengono, l'organizzazione del mercato e, quindi, le prospettive future
