Pathogenicity of three species of Phaeoacremonium spp. on grapevine in California [Vitis vinifera L.]

Английский. Autoclaved sand was inoculated with Phaeoacremonium inflatipes, P. aleophilum and P. chlamydosporum. Single bud cuttings of grapes of cv Chardonnay were placed in inoculated sand and incubated for three weeks at 27 deg C. P. inflatipes was isolated from 66%, P. aleophilum from 59% and P. chlamydosporum from 7% of cultured cuttings. The effect of infection on callusing was also observed. Inoculation with P. clamydosporum , P. aleophilum and P. inflatipes inhibited callus formation in 22, 62 and 72% of total cuttings, respectively. Infection of the cuttings by P. inflatipes, P. aleophilum and P. chlamydosporum significantly (P = 0.0001) reduced number of roots, plant eight, number of internodes, root elongation and dry weight of the above-ground parts. However, no significant (P = 0.1969) effect was found on root dry weight. Infection and vascular discoloration was found in spurs of the Pinot Noir and Chardonnay inoculated with P. chlamydosporum, P. inflatipes and P. aleophilum through pruning wounds. Significant differences were found in extent of invasion in Pinot Noir and Chardonnay in response to inoculation. Invasion of spurs of Pinot and Chardonnay inoculated with P. chlamydosporum was significantly more extensive than invasion by P. inflatipes and P. aleophilum respectively (P = 0.0001)

Talee a gemma singola di viti della cv Chardonnay sono state poste nella sabbia inoculata e incubate per tre settimane a 27 gradi C. P. inflatipes e' stato isolato dal 66%, P. aleophilum dal 59% e P. chlamydosporum dal 7% delle talee coltivate. E' stato pure osservato l'effetto dell'infezione sulla formazione del callo. L'inoculazione con P. chlamydosporum, P. aleophilum e P. inflatipes inibiva la formazione del callo, rispettivamente, nel 22, 62 e 72% del totale delle talee. L'infezione delle talee da parte di P. inflatipes, P. aleophilum e P. chlamydosporum ha ridotto significativamente (P = 0,0001) il numero delle radici, l'altezza delle piante, il numero di internodi, l'allungamento delle radici e il peso secco delle porzioni epigee delle piante. Comunque, non e' stato osservato alcun effetto significativo (P = 0,1969) sul peso secco delle radici. Nei getti del Pinot Noir e Chardonnay inoculati con P. chlamydosporum, P. inflatipes e P. aleophilum attraverso le ferite da potatura e' stata riscontrata l'infezione e lo scolorimento vascolare. In Pinot Noir e Chardonnay sono state riscontrate differenze significative nell'entita' dell'invasione dei patogeni in risposta all'inoculazione. L'invasione dei germogli di Pinot e Chardonnay con P. chlamydosporum era maggiormente estesa rispetto all'invasione da P. inflatipes e P. aleophilum, rispettivamente (P = 0,0001)]
