The field experiment was conducted in the Experimental Station in Uhrusk (Poland) in 1993-96. The experiment was localized on rendzina, random blocks in 4 repetitions. The objects of investigations was: winter triticale crop, sown after potato, pea or winter triticale in conditions of basic care (mechanical) and intesive (mechanical and chemical). Weed dry mass, Shannon index and dominance index were assessed. The triticale monoculture had the greatest number and dry mass of weeds. Chemical control decreased weed number and dry mass by 61.4 and 54.9, respectively, compared to an untreated control. The following species of weeds dominated in the winter triticale after potato: Chenopodium album, Fallopia convolvulus, Galium aparine, Melandrium album, Viola arvensis, Stellaria media and Apera spica-venti, after pea: Chenopodium album, Galium aparine, Stellaria media, Fallopia convolvulus and Apera spica-venti. In monoculture of winter triticale Apera spica-venti dominated
