The data covered 18,563 lactations of 8,938 goats born between 1997 and 1999 and kidded between 1983 and 2000. The data were divided into classes depending on year of birth (first class contained goats born before 1991) and year of kidding (first class contained goats kidded before 1992). Each following year was a single class. The estimation of genetic trend in dairy traits was based on the solutions for years of birth, while environmental trend on solutions for herd-year-season of kidding classes, as received by BLUP under an animal model. The mean milk yield was 570.4 kg/lactation; fat content 3.52 percent and protein content 2.92 percent
