Changes in cell ultrastructure and morphology of Arabidopsis thaliana roots after coumarins treatment

The paper describes the effects of simple coumarins, coumarin and umbelliferone on Arabidopsis roots. Morphology, cell ultrastructure and the results of enzyme assays suggest that either an interaction of coumarins with the endomembranes or shifted differentiation as a secondary effect of the mitodepression, could be involved in the coumarins-induced abnormalities. The obtained results demostrate that exogenous gibberelin reverses to some extent the effects of coumarins
