Английский. The data regarding the transformation of the Baraggia area of Vercelli by the Consortium of the same name in the last fifty years are reported and commented on. The reclaimed area embraces more than 40,000 hectares, with a population of around 77,000 residents. The results of many different surveys of the soil and of its agronomic characteristics are provided, followed by detailed account of the activities of the Reclamation Consortium on the infrastructures of the territory: the road and electrical network, housing, the aqueduct, land levelling, the creation of three reservoirs. The construction characteristics of the reservoirs and of the irrigation network supplied by these are described, stressing in particular that the water of the reservoirs is used both to supply drinking water, for irrigation and for production of electricity. Considerable emphasis is laid on the results of the agronomic researches promoted by the Consortium in order to identify possible alternative crops to rice. The work of the Consortium has permitted complete exploitation for agricultural purposes of a territory characterized by lowly fertile soil through irrigation and the application of valid examples of reorganisation of landed property. The considerable outlay in terms of public funds is to some extend justified by the multiple usage of the water of reservoirs
Показать больше [+] Меньше [-]итальянский. Vengono riportati e commentati i dati relativi alla trasformazione della Baraggia Vercellese dall'omonimo Consorzio di bonifica negli ultimi 50 anni. Il comprensorio di bonifica ha una superficie di oltre 40.000 ha, con una popolazione di circa 77.000 residenti. Vengono riportati i risultati di numerose indagini sulla natura del suolo e sulle sue caratteristiche agronomiche. Segue una dettagliata cronistoria dell'attivita svolta dal Consorzio di bonifica sulle infrastrutture del territorio: rete stradale ed elettrica, abitazioni, acquedotto, sistemazione dei terreni, creazione di tre invasi artificiali. Vengono descritte le caratteristiche costruttive degli invasi e della rete irrigua sottesa, ponendo in evidenza l'utilizzazione plurima dell'acqua invasata, destinata anche ad usi idropotabili ed alla produzione di energia elettrica. Ampio spazio viene dato ai risultati della sperimentazione agronomica promossa dal Consorzio per individuare potenziali colture alternative al riso. L'azione svolta dal Consorzio ha consentito la piena valorizzazione agricola di un territorio, con terreni scarsamente fertili, mediante la irrigazione e la attuazione di validi esempi di riordino fondiario. L'uso plurimo dell'acqua di invaso giustifica, in qualche misura, l'ingente impegno finanziario pubblico
