The content of cow rumen was used as a source for isolation of lactic acid bacteria from the point of their probiotic features. The strains demonstrated very good capacity for rapid grow in short period of time. In the culture media with glucose, cellulose, cellobiose and xylose, as a single source of carbon, the strains produced the lactic acid in significant quantities i.e. from 1,0 to 2,5 g/100 ml of culture medium
