Analysis of contents and chemical composition of essential oil obtained from sage (Salvia officinalis L.) cv. 'Bona' in the first year of cultivation

A study was conducted in the years 1996-98. The content of essentional oil from leaf, herb and stem of sage cv. Bona was estimated by Polish Farmacopea IV, and chemical composition on GC/MS. Folium salvae and Herba salvae contained over 1.0 essential oil and kept the standard of Polish Farmacopea. GC/MS analysis showed 32 chemical compounds
