The purpose of this paper is to assess the effectiveness of online Business English (BE) learning in the Serbian EFL2 context by examining the performance of Serbian EFL 2 learners in mastering the BE reading, speaking, listening and writing skills at CEFR B1 Level. A total of 57 EFL learners (32 in-person and 25 online EFL learners), pursuing a B1 Business Preliminary qualification, were enrolled in this study over the course of four academic years: 2017–18, 2018–19, 2019–20 and 2020–21. Using the arithmetic mean, standard deviation and individual samples t-test, a descriptive statistics analysis of the 57 mid-course and 57 endof-course test results obtained was carried out to measure the performance of the online and inperson B1 BE learners considered in mastering the BE reading, speaking, listening and writing skills at CEFR B1 Level. The statistical results obtained unequivocally demonstrate a superior performance of the online learners in mastering all the B1 BE language skills over their in-person counterparts by achieving higher average test scores and marks.
