Mediante el convenio existente entre el Instituto Geográfico Agustín Codazzi (IGAC) y la Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas, es posible realizar el mantenimiento y actualización de la GDB de aerofotografías análogas y digitales, tomadas a lo largo de la historia por el IGAC con estándares de calidad. Mediante la ejecución de técnicas de georreferenciación y mantenimiento de GDB de una cantidad de vuelos 64 sin depuración, que se encuentran bajo la supervisión de la subdirección de geografía y cartografía.
