El casco urbano del municipio de Pacho- Cundinamarca, dentro de su sistema de alcantarillado no cuenta con ningún tipo de tratamiento de aguas residuales municipales, siendo la principal causa de contaminación ambiental y del recurso hídrico de la región, debido a los vertimientos de aguas residenciales, institucionales y comerciales que son depositados de manera directa sin ningún tipo de tratamiento a diversas fuentes hídricas.
