The issue of revitalization of small rivers belongs to those topical problems, which in turn are successfully implemented in many countries of Western and Central Europe. This problem of Georgia, which is going through European integration, has become urgent now. Based on the conducted hydrographic and morphometric measurements, experimental data and the transfer-diffusion equation of a passive ingredient in surface waters, the change of iron content in bottom sediment samples taken from four pre-selected points over time was calculated, in terms of observing the bed of the Orkhevi River, the left microtributary of the Mtkvari River within the administrative limits of the city of Tbilisi, since iron is the most dominant component in the water of the Orkhevi river, compared to other heavy metals, in terms of its concentration. It is showed that as a result of the calculations performed for numerical modeling of the sedimentation process of the main ingredient, the concentration of iron in bottom sediments significantly depends on the main driving forces of the course of its sedimentation process, on vertical turbulent diffusion and on the rate of gravitational sedimentation.
