Minimización de la huella hídrica del cultivo de tomate bajo condiciones de estrés salino - Tomabiotic
2023
El Bouchikhy, Zineb
Tomato irrigation is one of the main factors in its production, determining not only productivity but also crop quality. In turn, salinity has been identified as a crucial factor in the production of this fruit. Two factors were studied to evaluate the behaviour of tomato with respect to the irrigation system (surface and subsurface irrigation) and the salt stress applied (CE1=1,3 dS/m and CE2= 4 dS/m). According to statistical analysis, the subsurface irrigation system uses water 26% more efficiently than the surface irrigation system. Nevertheless, this system doesn’t have any effect on growth, production and fruit quality parameters. Salt stress leads to a reduction in dry weight, photosynthesis rates, water and osmotic potential, chlorophyll content, total production and also causes nutritional deficiencies. However, fruit quality indicators (total acidity and Brix) are positively affected with applied salt stress.
