Presented as Doctoral thesis at Uppsala University 1982. An investigation to elucidate how plants grazed by reindeer in the early spring survive the winter and develop their shoots and leaves, to study the environmental factors which influence the development of new biomass, and to determine the nutritional content of spring and autumn material. Study area was the reindeer range at Ottfjallet in Sweden.
