The natural fast food cookbook | Fast food cookbook
1980
Worstman, Gail L. | Fulwiler, Betsy Rupp
Abstract: Time saving and good nutrition are combined in a set of recipes for people whose busy life styles preclude extensive food preparation, yet who hope to avoid the usual processed fast foods. Some of the ideas are centered around portable, easy-to-eat lunches, such as a soup that cooks in a thermos bottle, sandwiches that utilize whole wheat, ice-cream cones, or taco shells filled with cheeses, vegetables, and occasionally meat for the "transitional" eater. Other ideas are presented for dishes which can be made in quantity or ahead of time to shorten preparation at meal time. The use of fresh natural foods is emphasized as having more nutritional and economic value. Some of the ingredients recommended include whole grain flours, raw wheat germ, non-instant milk powder, raw honey, raw dairy products, tofu, and raw nuts and seeds.
