Abstract: Designed to teach nutrition to elementary school children, this guide contains the necessary materials for a creative introduction to nutrition concepts. Cartoon characters play the nutrient roles. Sources of iron, protein, and energy as well as lessons on breakfast and snacking comprise the focus of this part of the series. Objectives, introduction, activities, and materials are suggested for each lesson. Thorough background information on each nutrient is included, as are handouts and posters illustrating the concepts being taught.
