Four new ergostane-type steroids from Lasiodiplodia pseudotheobromae

Four new ergostane-type steroids (1–4) were isolated from the fungus of Lasiodiplodia pseudotheobromae. Their structures were elucidated based on spectroscopic methods and single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. Compound 1, an unusual steroid, possesses a unique ring system with A-ring contracted and formed a new δ-lactone ring between C-3 and C-9. The absolute configurations of compound 1 was determined by ECD calculation while compound 2 was confirmed by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis.
