RETRACTED: Nonlinear Kalman filters based rotor effective wind speed estimation: An experimental comparison

The purposes of this paper are twofold. The first is to propose a simplified nonlinear wind turbine model that will be used to estimate the rotor effective wind speed. The second one is to present a comparison between an Extended Kalman Filter (EKF), which is widely considered in the literature, and an Unscented Kalman Filter (UKF), which is not yet studied. We implement these techniques on a real wind turbine in different wind scenarios. A nacelle mounted LIDAR sensor is used to validate the results. It is shown that compared to the EKF, the UKF can improve the estimation accuracy, especially for high frequency components of wind speed.
