Properties of F1 generation grapevine seedlngs obtained by crossing the cultivars Rkacitely and Red traminer

In order to obtain a new cultivar of high yield and quality, crossing of cultivar Rkaciteli with cultivar Red traminer has been done. Plantation of hybrid seedlings on their own roots has been done in the experimental School Farm “Radmilovac” Faculty of Agriculture University of Belgrade. Seedlings of the F1 generation were examined and scored on the basis of the flowering period and characteristics of berries, grape yield and quality of grapes. All seedlings were classified in categories by the method of OIV (“Code des characters descriptifs des varietés de Vitis”). Variability of seedlings of hybrid descendents in relation to the beginning of flowering was: very early 43.33%, early 36.67%, seedlings; middle 10.00% of seedlings; late 3.33% and very late 6.67% of seedlings. The end of flowering had a different variability. 86.67% of the seedlings had very small cluster weight and 13.33 % small cluster weight. All seedlings of Fı generation had small mass of berries. Low yield of grape per ha was recorded in 90,00% of the seedlings, very low yield in 3.33% and average yield in 6.67%. Although the parent cultivars had both high sugar content in must, 90.00% and 10.00 %seedlings had respectively high and average content.
