Extract: An economic comparison of both the 1981 Agriculture and Food Act and the Economic Recovery Act of 1981 to their predecessors was made for a typical cotton-sorghum farm on the Texas High Plains. The comparison was done using a whole farm simulation model (FLIPSIM II) over a 10-year planning horizon. The results shown in the 1981 policy changes will increase the typical operator's average after-tax net present value by more than $129,000 over the previous set of policies.
