Studies on enrichment of varieties assortment at autumn cabbage Brassica oleracea L. var. capitata

The aim of the paper was to present 'Silviana' cultivar set up at the Vegetable Research and Development Station Bacau, Romania. Cabbage is very appreciated and requested on the Romanian market but of interest is to introduce new cultivars appreciated both for yield and quality traits. Compared to other Romanian cultivars, 'Silviana' is distinguished by a yield of about 98 t ha-1, and the produce is characterized by 6.2% of soluble glucides, 0.2% of lipids, 8.9% of total dry matter and 0.71% of mineral content. For its interesting agronomical and technological traits ‘Silviana’ starts to be interesting both for growers and consumers.
