Radio spots spread the message
1984
In Connecticut, the state Nutrition Council and the state School Food Service Association joined forces to promote National Nutrition Month. A contest for 7th and 8th grade students to develop 30-second nutrition radio spots on an aspect of nutrition was the focus of the program. The winning messages were then taped to air on radio during March. In addition to the radio coverage, which reached an estimated audience of 3,842,400, people there were newspaper articles and promotions within the school system. (emc)
