Extract: The objectives of this study were to examine socioeconomic characteristics of buyers and sellers, reasons for buying or selling fringe area land and opinions on some land use policy statements in the Fargo-Moorhead fringe area. Increased demand for small parcels of fringe area land for nonfarm residential sites has shifted agricultural land to urban-type uses.
